The University is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual who will be responsible for monitoring CCTV cameras, access control, fire alarm system, and alarm system, incident and crime prevention, equipment reporting, and other related duties that support SMU’s security operations.
The incumbent reports to the Chief Security Officer and must meet the requirements.

Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 and security training and certification
PSIRA Grade B
At least three (3) years’ security experience in the control room environment - Experience in tertiary environment will be an added advantage
- Computer literacy Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint MS Outlook and Internet)
- Valid Driver’s licence

Duties
- Carry out access control duties
- Patrol and general guard responsibilities
- Preventing crime – Responding to alarms and emergency circumstances
- Traffic management and VIP parking reservations
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
- Contribute to SMU’s general development and actively promote institutional culture Other official transportation tasks as instructed by the Line Manager
