SBV is inviting people with a minimum of Grade 10, Grade C and Handgun and Rifle Competency to apply for the Protection Officer position.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Safeguarding and Transportation of Company assets

  • Protect firm assets in accordance with SBV policies and procedures.
  • Collect and deliver customer consignments in accordance with SPO.
  • Observe and deploy tactically from the vehicle in accordance with corporate procedures.
  • Always follow the law and the company’s policies.
  • Be accountable for the equipment, ensuring all procedures and safety regulations are followed.
  • Receive ongoing training on new tactics.

Proper utilization of Equipment / Items issued

  • Inspect all assigned equipment to confirm that it is in good operating order and is available.
  • · Report any malfunctioning equipment to the vehicle’s team commander right away.
  • Take proper care of and safeguard equipment, including neatness, usage, and safekeeping.
  • Proper use of given equipment, including personal protective equipment such as bulletproof jackets
  • ·Follow business policies and procedures

Effective Teamwork

  • At all times, show respect and support for team members.
  • Collaborate closely, cover and protect one another in the course of all duties
  • Assist the team leader in adhering to normal operating procedures, advising them of any deviations.

Customer Service

  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Establish working relationships with diverse bank workers and vendors while displaying a strong work ethic and high integrity.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and appearance (clean uniforms, clean-shaven, bulletproof vests)

Record keeping and Administration

  • Maintain records in accordance with company policy.
  • React in threatening situations within the appropriate security procedures.
  • Begin gathering information as soon as possible and as fully as possible.
  • As per corporate policy and procedure, contact the appropriate SBV official (e.g. Fleet Controller, CPO, or Manager), traffic department, and police promptly.
  • Ensure Logistics Schedules have been reloaded.
  • Regularly monitor and maintain radio communication with the SBV Control Room in accordance with business policy and procedure.
  • Maintaining a record of all papers and ensuring that all documentation meets the highest standards and is signed by customers at all times
  • Maintain, update, and finish all required documents in accordance with Company procedures.

Requirements

Internal Applicant

  • No prior experience is required
  • Grade 10
  • Successful CITPO training completion
  • PSIRA Grade C
  • Handgun and Rifle Competency
  • Valid driver’s license Code 10 with PDP: Beneficial
  • If an employee has not successfully completed CITPO training, they will be forced to do so and will only be appointed if they do so.

  • Grade 12 with a pass in Maths Literacy.
  • PSIRA Grade C
  • Handgun and Rifle Competency
  • A valid driver’s license with a code 10 and PDP.
  • The candidate will be required to complete SBV CITPO training and will be appointed only after successful completion.
