Job Position: General Workers

Applications are being accepted from adequately qualified individuals for 15 fixed-term contract posts in the Kruger National Park’s Nxanatseni Regional Camps or Gardening General Workers – Marula Regional (30 Positions. In charge of reporting to the Camp Supervisor.

Requirements
- Grade 12
- A certificate of competence in the use of a chainsaw or brush cutter will be advantageous.
- Previous landscaping and/or garden upkeep experience.
- Excellent knowledge of the demands of a wide range of plants, including trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Understand the basics of trash management and recycling.
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety
- Good understanding of instruments, handling, and aftercare.
- Capability to collaborate across it.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning the camp’s accommodations and public areas, among other semi-skilled chores.
- Ensure that the campgrounds, Day Visitors Area, and other public spaces have a clean and well-maintained appearance.
- Water plants, trees, and grass, and mow the lawn.
- Keeping the ground clean and free of litter.
- Maintain the swimming pool and its surroundings.
- Maintain a pleasing appearance and plant health by pruning and trimming trees and shrubs properly.
- Clean the camp’s exterior corridors and spaces, parking, and walks.
- Assist with garbage management and recycling separation
- Inventory the stocks of tools, equipment, or materials.
- Ascertain that adequate supplies are available, and that all goods are clean and in useable shape.
- Identify and order appropriate remedies for diseases or pests impacting landscaping.
- Direct or perform fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide, or fungicide mixture or application.
- Ensure that only native plants are planted in the camp gardens, and that alien ones are removed.
