SAFCOL invites unemployed youth (18-35 years old) who want to work in the forest to apply for an 8-month learnership program. Successful applicants will be enrolled in a one-year formal and structured Learnership Programme (NQF Level 3), which will include recognized theoretical and practical instruction.
For the length of the Learnership, learners will be paid a monthly stipend.
Learners will get a nationally recognized qualification upon completion of the Learnership. Learners will receive knowledge and expertise that will help them get jobs with forestry firms and contractors, or they will be able to start their own SMME.
The following Learnerships are available:
- Silviculture Learnership (NQF Level 3)
- General Forestry (NQF Level 1)
Requirements: - Must be a South African Citizen
- Must be an unemployed youth between 18 to 35 years’ old
- Must have successfully passed matric (Grade 12)
- Must have passion for forestry environment and be able to work outdoors
