Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies requires a Cleaner at our various stores. You will be responsible for keeping a clean and neat office area as well as a hygienic Dis-Chem standard.

Responsibilities

On a daily basis, maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the Head Office and community areas.
Create routines to guarantee that all sections of the Head Office are kept clean to a high quality.
Maintain a clean canteen and restroom that is always stocked with the required materials.
Be available to clean up as needed at all times throughout operational hours.
Before disposing of waste, be sure it does not contain any products or valuable items.
Vacuum carpeted areas (meeting and training rooms) on a daily basis in accordance with regular operating procedures.
Other carpeted spaces should be vacuumed once a week in accordance with routine operating practices.
Dust desks, chairs, telephones, shelves, photocopiers, and other office and meeting room furnishings in accordance with standard operating practices.
In performing duties, adhere to industry health and safety regulations.
Ensure that no cleaning utensils are left unattended on the office floor and that they are properly stowed when not in use.
Before cleaning the floor, make sure the wet floor sign is up and visible from both ends.
Be courteous and professional, and be able to engage with customers on-site while cleaning is being done.
When customers ask for help, direct them to the appropriate floor or person.
Maintain straightforward and cordial communication with staff and guests.
Address minor issues or refer them to the team leader for assistance.
Ensure that kitchens and toilets are well-stocked and clean in accordance with Dis-Chem standards. Report any low or out-of-stock items to the team leader.
Report any faulty equipment or items in operational areas team leader, such as doors, handles, locks, taps, cisterns, lights, switches, and so on.
