Job Description
The candidate must assist the Senior Plant Foreman or Supervisor in monitoring the plant’s process flow to guarantee optimal and safe tonnage throughput, carat recovery, equipment and resource utilization.
The candidate may be asked to help the Supervisor gather and analyze plant samples.

KEY RESULT AREAS
- Supervising, reporting on, and adhering to all safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Ensure that plant standards and specifications are followed and that deviations are reported.
- Report plant status to the appropriate Foreman at all times
- Monitor physical conditions and report deviations proactively
- Conduct risk assessments and transmit plant conditions to relevant Ore Processing Controllers
- Make certain that all records are kept and reported accurately.
- Be a part of sectional MBA programs, SHE Management programs, and Business Improvement Initiatives (i.e. RRP).
- Takes over or handovers shift from off or on-going operator, first attending to any anomalies, then reporting to supervisor and receiving further instructions.
- Inspect the facility physically and notify the Ore Processing
- Foreman of any deviations and remedial action taken, including job cards for engineering-related concerns.
- Performs physical inspections of plant equipment in accordance with departmental procedures in order to reduce breakdowns and production losses by reporting irregularities to the Ore Processing Controller or Senior Plant Foreman.
- Operates and monitors the plant’s operational parameters and related equipment, as well as assists in the repair of equipment in accordance with production needs and Standard Operational Procedures.
- Inform Ore Processing of plant conditions and characteristics.
- Controller or Supervisor to allow monitoring or coordination of the manufacturing process
- In order to monitor or coordinate the production process, communicate plant conditions and parameters to the Ore Processing Controller or Supervisor.
- Cleans areas of responsibility in accordance with procedures as directed by the Senior Plant Foreman.
- Assist in reducing downtime and equipment breakdown by proactively reporting deviations from standards.
- Collects, processes, and analyzes samples to determine process unit efficiency in the plant.
- Recommends sampling and sample processing enhancements to the Laboratory Controller.

Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification in Math.
- A valid EC/Code 10 driver’s license is required.
- Medical fitness certificate to work in a plant setting (Red or Blue area plant)
- Polygraph testing for Red Area roles will be performed.
