Accounting/Bookkeeping Intern

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking practical experience in accounting and bookkeeping. You will be trained in all relevant fields in which medium to large businesses operate. You will learn from and be supported by a financial institution.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Helping with the capture and reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable
  • Maintenance of fixed asset registrations, as well as monthly reconciliation.
  • Account capture and reconciliation for Inter Company Loans.
  • Capturing and reconciliation of Cashbooks.
  • Inventory valuations and reconciliations are performed on a monthly basis.
  • Helping with tax calculations and submissions on a monthly basis (VAT & PAYE)
  • Preparation and publication of monthly journal entries
  • Contributing to monthly financial reporting (Balance Sheet Substantiation)
  • Assisting with annual audits.
  • Assisting with and enforcing accounting policies
  • Keeping accurate and current financial records
  • Helping with general administrative tasks like insurance claims, etc.
  • The internship will be supportive in nature, with ad hoc work allocated by the financial team.

Requirements and Experience

  • An NQF5 or equivalent University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Good numerical skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • A basic grasp of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent work ethic and desire to learn
  • Knowledge of SAGE Evolution and/or other accounting software a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both individually and collaboratively

Digital Content Creator Intern

Job Description

We are looking for someone to create digital content. Someone who enjoys and is knowledgeable about content creation; sourcing, generating, and executing on social media.

This junior position will assist the community manager and media officer.

Main duties

  • Contribute to the club’s digital media platforms, including the website, app, and all social media, by sourcing and creating content.
  • Profiling of all teams and individuals players and staff
  • Photography and videography of training sessions, activations, CSI, and marketing events; creative shooting
  • Contributing to media coverage; newspapers, etc.
  • Conducting interviews for podcasts

Requirements and Experience

  • A qualification in journalism, media, or communications, or a related qualification
  • Proactive and imaginative in content creation and club media opportunities.
  • Good communication skills
  • Exquisite attention to detail
  • Must be able to operate well under pressure.
  • Must be at ease and respectful of large groups/crowds
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, photo and video editing, and social media.
  • Social Media savvy
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent work ethic and a desire to learn.
  • Graphic design experience or knowledge is preferred!

The internship will be supportive in nature, with ad hoc work allocated by the Marketing/Media team.
