Job Description
- Process and input group, FIT, and corporate reservations in accordance with hotel reservation policies.
- Answer all calls immediately, within three rings, using the hotel’s specified greeting, in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ascertain that all pertinent information is received.
- Ensure that all reservations are processed correctly on the same working day.
- In the designated places, date stamp and file processed reservations.
- Each month, clear past reservations from filing cabinets to be stored in box files.
- Take personal responsibility for responding to all questions.
- Ensure that all outgoing mail follows business procedures and that any atypical correspondence is approved by the Reservations Sales Manager.
- Help with the preparation and testing of the rate handbook.
- Check and update rates in the computer system as needed.
- Refer to the Rate Manual or rate advertising for rates.
- Any deviations from the published pricing must be approved by the Sales Manager.
- Keep a good selling attitude in order to maximize yield in both occupancy and rates.
- Assist in the Front Office as needed, particularly with guest check-in and out during high hours of activity.
- Any additional duties assigned by the Department Manager/Supervisor from time to time.
Requirements
- Hotel experience that is relevant.
- Candidate must have 1-2 years of Front Office/Reservations (mandatory) and/or cash (recommended) experience.
- Exhibit a high degree of proficiency in Excel, Word, Email, and other Microsoft PC-based software available from Microsoft (MS).
- The ability to work well in a team atmosphere.
- Strong team player with an eye for detail -Excellent communication and guest service skills required
- Self-motivated with great organizational abilities, demonstrated initiative, and the ability to complete assignments on time
