Job Description
G4S Cash Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated cash management solutions, is looking for a CIT driver to work at our Pretoria, Cape Town and Louis Trichardt facilities.
The CIT Driver reports to the CIT Manager and is responsible for the guarding and handling of cash, valuables, securities, and negotiable papers in transit between various places, as well as driving a vehicle in the fulfillment of any or all of his tasks.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record of adhering to company policy, implementing best practices, and exercising sound judgment in pursuit of the organization’s goals, as well as understanding the role that operations management plays within a successful business unit.
The incumbent will be expected to be results-driven and to live the organization’s values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain Vehicle standards and comply with company equipment and vehicle procedure
- Receives and signs for all equipment (Firearm, holster, lanyard, ammo, identity card, and vehicle keys) from the Armory and returns all equipment at the end of the day.
- Comply with company uniform and protective equipment procedures.
- Conduct a vehicle audit with a vehicle check-list prior to the start of duty.
- Report small problems to the artisan and serious flaws to the TSO before the start of duty.
- Record and keep a vehicle log book for action.
- Re-fuel vehicle at the start of duty to ensure that it is ready for the next shift.
- Responsible and accountable for all technology and equipment used in the vehicle.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle (washed daily).
- Inspects vehicle upon completion of duty to ensure that there are no boxes/ Stoploss Bags or other items left behind in the vehicle inadvertently
Drive vehicles responsibly and recording of accidents and incidents
- Obtain the planned route trip from the planner; no deviations from the authorized path are permitted.
- Drive responsibly in order to project a professional image and to follow safety rules and regulations.
Responsible and accountable for ensuring that the PDP license is valid and current. - Obey all traffic restrictions.
- Report any traffic incidents to the BSO.
- Behave courteously towards any member of the public involved in the accident or incident.
- Make no admissions of fault, administrative negligence, or promises to get fixes completed.
- Report all relevant details pertaining to the accident in writing to the branch.
- Report all accidents to SAP and/or traffic department.
- Comply with vehicle operating instructions to ensure that no other persons not in possession of necessary driver qualification are allowed to drive the company vehicle
Operate a radio in a vehicle.
Requirements
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
- Valid PDP
- Matric/Grade 12
- CIT Certificate
- Grade C PSIRA
- Firearm Competency (business purposes)
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
